It is very important to care for your new chihuahua puppy properly. They aquire alot of time and money to raise. They need lots of your attention and love. Tiny Chihuahuas can have hypoglycemic attacks if not taken care of properly. This is when there blood sugar goes down. This is very serious and could cause death. It must be treated in a timely matter.I keep nutri-cal available just in case. This is a brown sticky sweet substance in a tube and can be found at your local vets office. Just give your puppy a finger full of nutri-cal when you think they may have an attack or as soon as you realize that they are having an attack. A hypoglycemic attack can be brought on by stress, or poor eating. You must make sure that your puppy has adiquate food and water available to him or her at all times. And make sure you keep the puppy calm and as free from stress as posible during the transition period to the new home. And do not forget I am here for you for any questions you have.
